Come to London Olympia to try the food lover’s crisps

Posted by Viv on

Award-winning Brown Bag Crisps are a twist on tradition as they are the only crisps in Great Britain to be handcooked in 100% olive oil. And we will be spreading the word about these delicious potato treats at this year’s Speciality and Fine Food Fair, held at London Olympia from Sunday (September 2) to Tuesday (September 4) – come and see us!

Brown Bag Crisps offer five flavours: Lightly Salted; Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar; Mature Cheddar, Manchego, & Onion; Sea Salt and Black Pepper and Oak Smoked Chilli. At the 2012 Speciality and Fine Food Fair, we will be sampling all our tasty crisps, as well as our newest flavour, which is Smoked Bacon. Come and see us on stand 644 (http://www.specialityandfinefoodfairs.co.uk/)

Made from seasonal varieties of British heritage potatoes sourced from small farms, Brown Bag Crisps are cooked to perfection with no compromise on the quality of ingredients used.  All our flavours use natural ingredients. Our Oak Smoked Chilli seasoning is made using fiery Scotch Bonnet chillis and the amazing smoky flavour comes from the ingredients being smoked using sustainably-sourced New Forest oak. We have won four Great Taste Awards, most recently a 2012 award for our Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar.

Perfecting the quality taste is what crisps lover Phil Lambe wanted to create most of all when he and his wife Viv started Brown Bag Crisps. He spent many months in their kitchen trying out different potatoes, oils and seasoning until he found the perfect crunch and taste.

Phil said: “We set out to make delicious crisps, using the best ingredients and which really stand out from the crowd – and we are really proud of Brown Bag Crisps, as are our many loyal customers.

“We are still very much a small, family-run company and we take a huge amount of pride in our crisps and our customers. This really is a dream come true for us.”

Harrods is the latest independent store to stock Brown Bag Crisps. Other stockists are Daylesford Organic, COOK, Rick Stein’s outlets inCornwall, Anthony Worrall Thompson’s Windsor Larder, Royal Windsor Farm Shop, Secretts Farm (near Godalming) and Garsons Farm (Esher).

The crisps are available in small (40g) and large (120g) bags, apart from Sea Salt and Black Pepper which only comes in the sharing bags.
